The King is in the Field.....have you met Him?
Begin this evening by reading Psalm 27 - Blow the Shofar and Go Out To Meet the King!
Review the list in your journal - how are you doing? Need some help? He's only a footstep away.
- You and Other People
- You and Your Circumstances
- You and Yahovah
Don't give up - don't fret - these 40 days of accounting and return will create in you a fresh new anointing of being one with your Messiah. As with anything that is worthwhile...it takes perseverance and persistence...you WILL break forth!
Where are you in your journey? Are you at the brick wall? Ever wonder where that saying actually came from - I have. And I've decided that this is where that verse comes from - straight from the heart of the earth - Jerusalem!
As with our brother, Judah, we sometimes hit the 'brick wall' and our prayers seem 'stuck' in the wall. We cajole, we plead, we beg, we cry, we even raise our fist to the heavens ... and sometimes it seems like there is an emptiness all around us - there is no one listening. And yet......
This is Elul .. when the gates of heavens are opened wide and the King is walking in the field!! Prepare yourself to turn around and look deep into His loving and all encompassing eyes. Your prayers have not gone up in smoke, they have ascended as a sweet savor to the nostrils of the Creator of the Universe. He knows the end from the beginning - surely He knows when and how to answer your prayers - even if (as the song assures us) the best answer is 'No'.
The wall that we have come up against, just as it was in Jerusalem, when I stood before this great reminder and prayed my heart's cry of return, is simply made of mortar and stone ... it is not the end of the road. It is simply a stepping stone to higher ground!! Look up dear soul, for your blessed Messiah awaits you to trust in Him and to allow Him to reach out and draw you nigh.
Scripture tells us that as believers we are grafted in - grafted into what? Mmmmm....it goes on to say we are grafted into the Olive Tree - of ISRAEL. Romans tells us that the first fruit is holy, the root is holy as are the branches - and WE are grafted IN AMONG THEM - we must partake WITH THEM of the ROOT of the OLIVE TREE!!! It is NOT the other way around! So please, consider the promises given to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob... that his seed truly IS as the sands of the seashore and the stars of the heaven...and that you - yes YOU - whether by natural or adopted - YOU are part of ISRAEL! It is time to come back to the Covenant of Yahovah - it is time to stop being a stiff-necked people who try to please Yahweh in our own ways ... and please Him as HE wishes to be pleased.
Rom 11:15 For if the rejection of them is the reconciling of the world, what would their acceptance be, but life from the dead? If the first fruit is holy, so is the lump. If the root is holy, so are the branches. But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them, and became partaker with them of the root and of the richness of the olive tree; don't boast over the branches. But if you boast, it is not you who support the root, but the root supports you. You will say then, "Branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in." True; by their unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by your faith. Don't be conceited, but fear; for if God didn't spare the natural branches, neither will he spare you. See then the goodness and severity of God. Toward those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in his goodness; otherwise you also will be cut off. They also, if they don't continue in their unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again. For if you were cut out of that which is by nature a wild olive tree, and were grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree, how much more will these, which are the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree? For I don't desire, brothers, to have you ignorant of this mystery, so that you won't be wise in your own conceits, that a partial hardening has happened to Yisra'el, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in, and so all Yisra'el will be saved. Even as it is written, "There will come out of Tziyon the Deliverer, and he will turn away ungodliness from Ya`akov. This is my covenant to them, when I will take away their sins." Concerning the Good News, they are enemies for your sake. But concerning the election, they are beloved for the fathers' sake. For
the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.
So, let us, as partakers of that rich olive tree and the promises of the Covenant learn the ways of the House and the rules of our Father. So today, as Sabbath approaches and we ready ourselves to welcome the Queen Shabbat, let us anticipate a peaceful and blessed shalom that will fill our homes and our hearts with a peace that defies understanding! Ready yourself and your duties so that by 3pm you are just finishing up your chores and you can begin to dedicate yourself to being ready when the King arrives to dine with you. This is Shabbat - give honor to the King! Place your best foot forward, ready the table and invite your guests to dine with you in the presence of the King. He is waiting for you to open the door. Sup with Him, laugh with Him and become one with Him. He will, through His Spirit, teach you all things.
Decide what you can do on this day which was set apart to rest in Him from the beginning of time. Here are a few ideas that might get you started if you are not familiar with observing this commandment from our Anointed One:
- If you have time, bake a loaf of fresh bread - if not, stop by the grocery or baker and pick up a fresh baked loaf
- Set the table with your special-reserved for company dishes and a nice tablecloth
- Pick some fresh flowers, or ask hubby to bring a small bouquet home (maybe he will get in the habit!)
- At dusk, light the candles and say a blessing over your household
- Enjoy your meal and begin discussing the scriptures - it will amaze you where this will lead!
- Take the Sabbath Day and sanctify (dedicate) this day to the One who created it....read scriptures together, spend the day with your family enjoying His creation or just rest and enjoy the blessings that come from obedience!
Gen 2:3 God blessed the seventh day, and made it holy, because he rested in it from all his work which he had created and made.
